Re: shoebox starting issues

Looks like all is well with the Shoebox. After I drained the oil, I let it sit for a spell and thought I should see some separation. None!?! I'll monitor as I do check the oil on all my gear before I...

Re: Pull draw - push pump

I changed the oil and filter, then I cleaned the plugs. Put some oil in the cylinders and cranked it a few times before putting the plugs back in. Oiled the distributor and checked to make sure all...

Re: shoebox starting issues

Decided that the difference in the value of the dollar is a moot point. Old iron is fun and ain't going to be cheap!
Weather has been a bit nasty around here, but finally got back to the car...

Re: Transmission flush help

Most, if not everything we need up here needs to be ordered through suppliers in the U.S. At least that's what I seem to find. Even my 8N tractors parts that I order through a Canadian dealer most...

Re: Transmission flush help

Thanks Ross, I have one for the 1950 Ford car. Neither actually helps when trying to find the equivalent oils in the 21st century! I really don't want to start trashing the car with improper oils, so...

Re: shoebox starting issues

The only thing I think would whack us up here would be the difference in the value of the dollar. A $70.00 pump with 45.00 shipping and handling would be $115.00. now that is USD. Convert to CND and...

Re: shoebox starting issues

Was going to do that today, but started greasing and investigating the transmission, after a late start in the shop. Pulled the dipstick though, and got thinned oil. Wiped it clean and rechecked and...

Re: shoebox starting issues

Sorry Ken, I missed this post for some reason. I'm thinking a lot along this line as well. The Carb seems wet and I'm thinking the float is stuck and may need a new needle valve and seat. May get the...

Question Re: Transmission flush help

So a GL-4 would be good for a 1950 Ford Custom three speed, no O.D.? I have the original spec in my manual, but it's out in the shop. I was reading my manual today, frantically looking for the...
