That's very nice ad! It's said to be from 1953, earliest I've seen.

I agree, original Fentons are the way to go.

Thanks for update, you were lucky to find those merc parts!

Yes, your 8BA oil pump will fit to merc pick-up tube assy. It is nice fit with that correct oil pan. These together are the best...

Do you guys know when Fenton headers for flatheads first appeared? I think early fifties?

that is good example about reproduction oil pump pickup. It is useless and very dangerous. I do believe them all are like this?

Any braking, cornering, acceleration and there is a change oil...

That's a good question. maybe if wide 5 five drums are 2-piece where drum is joined to hub with studs. was it -39 drums like that?

good idea to machine heads. I have used this technic many times when building Harley flathead strokers. easier with flat top pistons ofcource.

Sonic test is the way to go. and do a test...

I'd like to know part number and maybe vendor for this sheet metal part, top of the oil pickup tube. I only have parts books for pre -48 so I hope someone could help with...

Interesting, as I haven't seen those. all my blocks are insert type mains with studs.
Green bible tells that part numbers for 32-36 are: Bolt 18-6345 stud 40-6345 and 48-6345

I am sure material thickness will vary a lot, measure first, then modify. Many times core shift is possible. However, not sure what you mean by enlarging transfer passage, it is too deep most ford...
