Re: 1929 rpu front and rear wheel studs

If the "new style Ford rims" are the ones made after 1940 this explains your problem: https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1286293&posted=1#post1286293

Re: Engine question

It really not that much work but admittedly easier yet with a ’32 like I have. You get the 4 cylinder Chevy engine and adapt it to a ’32-39 Ford V8 trans using off the shelf parts from a speed shop....

Re: Help with Roadster top rests and window rest placement

They should have have been drilled originally, have you checked the bottom side? May not apply to reproduction bodies. Emailing directly is a bad idea. The others on fordbarn will not be ably to...

Re: Engine question

My first choice, by a long way, would be a properly rebuilt Model A engine. Maybe with a little MILD speed equipment if you wanted a LITTLE more power.

My second choice would be a ’32-’34 4...

Re: Vise help

If you put your real general location in your profile you might have better luck in finding the vice.

Re: 46 ford rear drum cutting

They have to be turned together. Unless you are in the witness protection program add your general location to your profile and maybe someone will suggest a place near to you that can do the work.

Re: Shock Absorber

Re: Wanted 15" Wheels for Model A

If yours are not long enough you need to replace them. Be sure to get someone that has done it before and knows what they are doing.

Re: Wanted 15" Wheels for Model A

There is one thing you need to watch for. I posted basically the same information elsewhere on this thread but since it involves safety I wanted to repeat it.

The problems come from the fact that...

Re: Wanted 15" Wheels for Model A

The problems come from the fact that the stock Model A wheels (actually through '35) contact the drum at two different elevations. If you run steel wheels on a 28-35 brake drum you need a spacer or...

Re: 6 to 12 Volt & Neg ground

A rebuildable core should be easy to find. Try a wanted ad. Start looking first in your local clubs to save shipping. My preference is to leave everything original, the mini starter "just doesn't...

Re: Tires for my 16" wheels

Be sure to check the date code on your tires. If they don't have one that doesn't mean they are ok but rather too old to have a code.

How about putting the odd one as spare with a tire cover? ...

Re: Fan Blade orientation

I'm not sure if I agree with you. If the fan is backwards it will try and blow air forward through the radiator stopping much of the incoming air and that will result in overheating at cruising...

Re: Rims for 1931 Model A

The '40-'48 will work but an adapter is required on the stock mechanical brakes. Can we assume you still have the Model A mechanical brakes?

Re: flywheel info

I would look for another machinist. I have it in the back of mind that one of the prints contained errors so you might compare a couple.
