Re: ID air filter please

I don't remember the original air cleaner from my '51 Ford having those ribs on the top. I took it off and stored it away a few years ago when I changed the engine in the car. I could be wrong, but...

Re: Vega steering box in a 40 Ford PU

If you insist on using a Vega box, it would be a good idea to stay away from the aftermarket boxes. There have been many reports about them failing prematurely.

Re: 1940 Ford Brake Bleeding Problem

I put Dot-5 in my '68 Corvette about 25 years ago. It was very difficult to get bled. I had my girlfriend pumping the brakes for what seemed days until I finally got it right. We had several...

Re: 59ab compression numbers

You may have to try several new condensers until you get a good one. A member over on the H.A.M.B. decided to chase down the ongoing condensers problems that are common these days. Upon taking...

Re: Eddie Meyer or Offenhauser?

The big decision to be made is "regular" (carbs biased towards the rear) or a "Super" (carbs positioned over the two sets of intake ports on the engine). I favor the latter (which requires "straight...

Re: 59ab compression numbers

I drove my original '51 Ford for thirty years with compression like yours with no problems other than less than stellar performance.

I finally got tired of it three years ago and put in a new...

Re: 1940 3/4 ton pickup

The 41's (at least the 1/2 tons) have a much narrower front hood trim. The '41's are wider. If it's not one of those, you're on your own.

Re: 59a stroker motor?

Let's face it; unless you really blow it and order a cam from "Go Cat Speed Shop" or someone similar, the choice of a camshaft in a street-driven flathead is a matter of vanity and braggin' rights.

Re: Offenhauser/Edelbrock heads 59AB

On the other hand, if they make them like the stainless center-dumps I bought, I'd be all over them.

It depends on the standards set by the American companies that order them. Do you really think...

Re: Pertronix Nightmare

Wow! Interesting; I never heard of anything like that. It's good to know that a bad PCV valve can cause this kind of problem.

Re: Ford Motor Company WORLDWIDE Employee Badges, ID Cards, Passes & Permits

I don't collect badges, but might consider giving my right nut for the "Geelong" badge with the stylized "V8".

I have no idea what you are trying to say here, but it looks to me like the greedy American companies are trying to take advantage of the current situation. With the current level of interest in...
