Re: New guy seeking advice

Re: Water output casting sealing gasket or no gasket?

I've used the original, thick gasket and traced it on a plain old brown paper grocery sack. Cut those out and use them as gaskets. A bit of #2 Permatex never a leak and never a problem with...

Re: What strange comments or questions have you heard about your Model A

Re: Mitchell gear spiters,

MAG, I purchased a Mitchell specifically for my Victoria. Yes, the regular ones do interfere with the drop down floor but they do make an O/D for the Victoria by changing the lengths of the torque...

Re: mini-starter

I am installing a Snyder's gear reduction starter in my rebuild. I had 3 "modern" solenoids explode on my starter that was converted to 12V. Boy what a pain in the rear to get those things out. ...

Re: Twin-X two speed rear end? Have a columbian two speed. Identify model A engine.

I too have a Twin-X in my Victoria. Pretty much like the standard rear-end except for the control rod that's used to shift from Hi to Low range. I am very cautious about shifting while I'm moving. ...

Re: Floor mat or carpet???

Thank you both for your help. Mat is the way I'll go. Yes the carpet has been wet and so have the occupants. Maybe that's why the carpet has a big hole below the clutch pedal that catches my heel....

Re: Synder's 12v Starter Review

I had a 6V starter converted to 12V and it seems to work pretty well. My problem is I have "stuck/welded" two or three starter switches. Apparently the new replacement switches are not as robust as...

I've not had good luck with these whistles. I have two of them and took them off. They were a huge vacuum leak. Hope yours works better.
