Re: Parking brake disassembly
Slide the handle off the pawl/mount, push the rod into the lever from the bottom, press the little pin that is now accessible out of the button, pull the rod and ratchet out of the lever, and finally...

Re: Directionals switch
From what you described; the power from the flasher isn't getting to the switch or there is a problem inside the switch.
I would remove it from the column, take it apart, and check the wire as...

Re: Oil Pressure Sender... 6v & 12v
Put a T in the engine and mount both senders then all the gauges would be operational, although a mechanical aftermarket would be preferable.

Re: V8 Rear Axle Width
While you could probably find a machinist that could shorten the stock tapered axles; it might not be so easy in this day and age.
You may be better off to switch to removable axles like Hot Rod...

Re: V8 Rear Axle Width
The number you need the seller to provide is:
"wheel mount surface to wheel mount surface"
Armed with that number, you can determine how it will fit your project.
If you had a picture to...

Re: Tiny ends heavy axles
@rotorwrench Some DIY guys can do nice axles.
There is another dago axle on the deuce in the background; an old chrome one to boot.

Re: Tiny ends heavy axles
Hank, always asking about "early" period correct; nothing is more old time correct than one of Stewart's "dago" deuce axles as they were one of the first around.

Re: "early" '32 rear end rebuilders?
Maybe check with Ben Haag @ Bluefield Vintage in Mooresville, NC he does a lot of axles.
Don't always have to drive everywhere; parts can be shipped.
Maybe reconsider building it yourself;...

Re: 48 Ford car rear hub bearing dimensions
If Timken tapered bearings were used it would have to look like a 3/4 ton and bigger truck rear end. The axle ends would need more machining, the hubs would need more machining, the full floating...

Re: Pictures V8 Diff.
Easiest would be adapting your A spring to the V-8 axle (get a '40 or earlier). Millworks sells some bolt on mounts.

Re: Horn relay sparks/install question
If the relay isn't connected to steering column or the horn and the only connection is the power wire and it sparks when touched to the fender panel, something isn't right with the relay.

Re: 39/40’ Tudor Sedan Glass
Try to look down between the glass and garnish on the other side; but with length of the track compared to the glass I would think it would be centered to clear the glass tracks.

Re: counterbalanced crank welds
While I'm not a Model A expert; on other equipment I've always had the crank, flywheel, and pressure plate balanced individually.

Re: Wheel Cylinder ID ???? 1940 FORD
While I'm far from an expert; from my experience '39-'41 fronts were 1"x1-1/4", '42-'48 fronts were 1"x1-3/8", and '39-'48 rears were 1"x1-1/8".
Now-a-days it seems all the front cylinders sold...

Re: 46-48 front drum replacement, or??
On the other hand since the mid '50s; just about every production Bendix type backing plate has had a fixed anchor pin. I wonder if Wilson's anchor pin was miss-located for the shoes used.
Anyway...

Re: '46 mercury steering wheel trim
Good question; they were easy to pop off; but I haven't figured a good way to put them back. Someone once mentioned they r&r'd them; but did not respond to my question of "how'.
