I use autolite 3076 plugs gapped at .035 i think
got them at autozone $3 ea.

that shoe has dropped for me - been waiting weeks for a package from fedex to be delivered - its almost close enough for me to go get it - tracking said it was out for delivery on 2/11...nope

this pic is first start up after i freed the stuck valve but it does smoke quite a bit when warmed up

I sure hope so and if I use old31's formula based on my aprx. altitude of 4400' my compression is good so seems I should be in godd shape in the mean time Ill fog my nieghborhood keep the bugs away...

thanks for advice i will order some gaskets and drop the pan as the first oil change i did looked like mud the second not as bad - i will also try the 20/50 /stp formula next change and some MMO in...

thank you for reply - engine has been sitting for god knows how long - its is oil smoke for sure bluish in color and plugs oil residue - im running a 15w/40 now - i belive the cylinder head is stock...

what is a normal compression reading - im getting 50/55 across all 4 - engine smokes when it gets warm - im thinking of giving cylinders a few squirts of MMO and let it soak in for a couple days...

the wiki artical is good info there was a link for a "mr.tire" none near me and i dont think they sell co-op tires for a model a anymore - to bad cause my 29 needs new sneakers :)

thanx for the welcomes - im having a blast working on this old truck doing the brakes and trying to figure out a pesky carb leak - leaks out the intake side of carb while running and i think ive...

yes being 6' tall i find its easyer getting in and out the passenger side - plus that door opens and closes better!

just got my 29 pickup will do a preservation and make the truck road worthy - runs good starts rite up but carb leks out intake side while running needs brakes and steering help etc. - so far so...
