I actually bought the Goodrich 6.50-16s because I liked the overall look a bit better. In the test drive I did not notice any issues, sort of hate to mess with em unless something develops.

I installed four new tires on the 41 Mercury today. Nice whitewalls from Coker, look pretty sharp. Glad I spent the extra money for whitewalls, even though the car probably ran with blackwalls...

yes, mine has that those type outlets at each side. But it has a crank hole thru also. The outlets end up at about the same height as the crank/ fan center.

tires are something I need to look at. I think he bought em in 1996 if I am reading the marking correctly. 6.00x16 tube type. Sidewall says Columbia Deluxe.

Got a chance to show off Grandpa's Mercury at my daughter's wedding. I was amazed at how the young kids were so impressed. These were a few amateur photos but the wedding photographers went crazy...

Good news, thanks to the wiring diagram I was able to get power back to the headlight switch. Swapped the headlamps for 12V Halogens that fit perfect. Taillight bulbs had already been converted. ...

Thanks. my friend thought the merc should have had a headlight relay under the hood somewhere. I will have to look at the switch again and see if he was going to run the full current thru it.
