I've got an extra oil filter canister from my 1952 F1 for sale. I replaced it with one that I hydro-dipped. After removal, I completely cleaned it; primed it and then painted with high heat black...

Re: Bad Speedometer cable or...

So update on my speedo issue - after pulling it and greasing it, it worked but once I got to about 50 MPH, it went bonkers again. So, instead of pulling it and greasing again, I opted for a new one....

I had a leak at the throttle base on mine - took forever to find it. Finally replaced the base for one without the throttle rod and problem disappeared.

Good luck

Re: Bad Speedometer cable or...

Thanks Tom (and everyone else!)

I'll try the oil tomorrow in the gauge - if that doesn't help, I'll order a new speedometer cable.

Ok - got it! I bought Lithium grease to do the job. I'll pay attention to not using too much and, well - wish me luck!

Re: Bad Speedometer cable or...

Thanks.

So if I understand correctly - just pull the internal cable out and don't remove the cable housing itself? I assume I'll need to disconnect the speedometer cable from both ends however?...

Re: What do you think?

Thanks - I did flush the transmission and replaced the gear oil in it about 60 days ago (1000 miles ago?) --- I didn't think there was a correlation - but thought I'd ask and just enjoy the lack of...

What do you think?

I have a 52 F1 with a 239 and 3 spd on the tree. Dana 44 rear end.

From the day I've had the truck, the transmission would 'grind' going into 1st gear (non-sync?).

This past weekend, I decided...

Re: Blower Motor Resistor - 1968 F100

I found a GM one that 'looked' like it at Summit Racing, but the holes weren't far enough apart and it wouldn't work.

Blower Motor Resistor - 1968 F100

I have been going absolutely bonkers trying to find a replacement blower motor resistor - I don't understand why this should be such a hard part to find.

I have a 390 with heat and no AC - I've...

Re: LED taillites

I would check your grounds. If you don't have a good ground, you can have a slight voltage differential. Most LEDs only need .6v to light (less than 1 v) If your ground isn't good, you may get enough...

Re: Rearend Question

I found a calculator: My tires are 28 inches high - with the 3.92 rear end, I need to run 3000 rpm to reach approx 65mph. In order to do that at a comfortable RPM of 2500 RPM, I'd have to drop to...

Re: 94 carb

I purchased the rebuild kit for my Holley 94 and had a local mechanic do it. It runs fantastic and was cheaper than a rebuilt one. I think he charged me 50.00 for the labor and I got the rebuild kit...
