That would be between the cardboard panel and the upholstery. The door bezel seems to not allow any space for padding and even installing over fabric would be a tight fit

so the spring goes between the door and the panel, and the Handle and lock escutcheon grabs only the fabric, not the door panel. What’s the trick for bending the tabs on the escutcheon which must...

No photos but back in 72 I had my gear shift snap off just a few inches above the transmission, where it curves. Just as I shifted into second gear.

Ok, I have a 29 coupe, now I have an idea of what I need to buy, have never seen springs behind door panels, but I see them in the catalogs. Guess I best make sure all my holes are correctly punched....

Look up my post of6-12-19 set up c clamp as shown, pin will come out. I forgot to mention small socket, pin diameter on bottom, hardest part is getting every thing in place.

Take a 6” clamp, place bottom jaw against the bottom of hinge pin, place socket over the top of pin, allowing enough room for the head to pass thru, tighten the clamp until the pin pops out. It...

Tip the lower part in making sure the speedo is in side the mounting flange, other wise you will really fight the top to fit.
