Water pump adaption
I have a 51 flathead 8BA motor that I plan to install in a 1939 Ford pickup. Which water pumps do I need to use on the 8BA so I can leave the regular motor mounts in the pickup? Thanks

Oil dipstick boss
I’m having no luck finding this part. Vanpelt shows it as part number 8BA-6751 for a 1951 flathead V8. It is the potmetal piece that is attached to the oil pan by three rivets. Any suggestions?

No, I probably will not. I would like to find a backup trans. for my 1939 pickup and put gears in it to be synchronized in 1st, 2nd, and third. They are getting hard to find around here.

1939 Ford Transmission #’s
I have the numbers off an old transmission but I can’t locate a site to interpret them. Can someone help? Here is what I can read. *3318-258*902*. I also have a pic. Of numbers and trans.

Tore down a 1951 Ford flathead v8. When crank was cleaned and checked, this was found. Found no metal in oil pan to speak of. Certainly, nothing of this size. Any ideas?? Cast defect?? Can...
