Appreciate your answers in...

Re: Engine ID

Ok few more silly questions! Rod nuts are below the edge of the block. How do I get to them?? Do I try to salvage rods and pistons? Realize I need to protect the cylinder walls. Rookie questions, but...

Re: Engine ID

Was really surprised about the studs. The remaining 2 at the center water jackets seem to be rather cantankerous?? A little patience and I'm sure they'll finally let go!! Thanks again for all they...

Re: Engine ID

A few hours later heads and most head bold removed! No obvious breaks on the deck surfaces. Where do I look for cracks? The gunk in the oil valley appears much worse than it is. Wipes off easily with...

Re: Engine ID

Thanks for some guidance fellas. I hope to begin tearing it down soon. Has been soaking in ATF fluid. Previous owner said I'll need to torch the transmission off. Thanks again!

New head gaskets

Had a stuck 21 stud in my 35 5w. Removed the heads and with a little persuasion it is freed up. Bought the Best 507c copper gaskets suggested and they seem to be much thicker than the composite...
