If you block off the passenger side points the driver side should be set at 22 1/2 degrees dwell. Then remove the block and set the passenger side to obtain 36 degrees total.

That’s what I’m thinking also. Based on the looks of the top of the lobes it has a lot of duration.

It’s an old regrind but never run. It’s in an Isky box but not sure it’s an Isky cam.

Pete, got any preferences? I’ve got a pair of Navarro heads on my 59 A and they’re good. I did have them machined to achieve.040 clearance above the piston . I bought these heads back in the 1990’s...

I’d change the pump since you have it out. Sounds like everything else has checked out but the pump is an easy change.

The switch housing has a tiny hole in the side opposite the wire connections . Stick a small wire like a paper clip in the hole and push on it while pulling the knob out.

There’s your problem. I bought one to put in my 40 sedan and my new stock 221 would not cool. I concluded that the block must have a crack somewhere and pushing exhaust gases into the water jackets....

Keep advancing the timing until the engine pings under load then back it off a tad. What kinda radiator you have ?

It’s easier to remove the whole rear axle with torque tube as a unit then replace it with the Columbia unit. To identify the brake fluid , put some water in a cup then put a little brake fluid in it...

Yeah, I have a few ideas. Guess I’ll try them out and strobe it on the machine and see how it goes. Worse case scenario I’ll just use the mag points . I have a couple of them that has the 10-52344W...
