Re: Handbrake Schematic

Another question for you all. I’m told that the felt anti-rattle piece is a good thing to include when rebuilding. Bratton’s and Mac’s carries it, but no one else seems to. Pictured is the one from...

Re: Handbrake Schematic

Good to hear. I was born and raised in North Seattle area so I know the terrain. Relatives lived in Port Gamble so we frequented the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry many a time. I'm hoping to drive my...

Re: Handbrake Schematic

Thanks much to both Joe K and Gary WA -- both help in giving me guidance.

Gary, how is the weather up your way. My parents live in Silverdale and my sister in Suquamish. Used to have friends that...

Re: Handbrake Schematic

And yes, just the handle. I purchased a nicely done butler finish handbrake, so I'm transferring/inspecting the guts of my old handbrake into the new.

Handbrake Schematic

I've been searching through past posts on handbrakes and have not seen too much in the way of schematics of the insides of a handbrake. I'm getting ready to take the innards out of my old handbrake...

Re: Rear panhard assembly

I was just looking at Snyder’s front and rear Panhard bars and wondering if they are worthwhile to have. My car drives find under normal conditions, but would these help handling if you were caught...

Re: Spindle /king pin spacer.

Yup! This diagram came from MAFCA and answered my question. It’s the only schematic I have found with this kind of detail.

Re: King pin

Quick question - should the cup be facing up with felt against the axle, or upside down with felt against the lower king pin bushing?

Re: Spindle /king pin spacer.

I have a question pertaining to this, but can't find a clear answer anywhere. Should the felt washer cup be facing with the felt against the axle, or facing down, with the felt against the king pin...

Re: Winfield Head

I've looked closer and can see the faint inscription of a 6 in the serial number area, so I'm sure its a yellow head. Spark plug holes are 18mm with 14mm adapters so I assume this is an early yellow...

Re: Winfield Head

Thanks for the input. I'm sure I'll be happy with it as well. I'll be using a Stipe touring cam with it on a B diamond block with Stipe oil pump so hopefully she'll be good on the open road

Re: Winfield Head

No other stampings, and unfortunately I can't make out any serial number on the pad below the PAT PEND stamping, but it really does sound like it is 6:1 or maybe slightly higher depending on what...

I recently purchased a rebuilt engine and it came with a Winfield 7:1 head and was hoping someone could help me identify if this is an original or a remake. Note the 1-12 above the Winfield name and...

Re: Oil Filters

Is this the 90 degree listed in the Snyder's catalog (A-6705) that replaces the Timing Side Cover? I'm working on a B block that has a full-flow Stipe Oil Pump on it and wondering if that's the way...

Re: Modifying oil pump.

I spoke with Specialty Motor Cams this morning. There is a lighter spring that can be inserted in place of the internal "green" spring that will reduce oil pressure from a max of 50psi to...

Re: Fake, Phony, and False

I understand several of you thinking I’m a bit quick on the draw. I’ll just say that I’d be fine with month’s delivery time if the seller would just reply to my queries. All I hear is crickets. My...

I get where you’re coming from, and I’ve learned a hard lesson. But at the same time, if there is a POS trying to screw vintage car owners out of money, I think the word needs to go out to other...
