Toss the board. Adjust as you would a later hydraulic system. Then drive and adjust. Not hard to do.

Backfiring out the tail pipe? Backfiring from the carb lean mixture. “After firing” out the tail pipe ignition.

I have never had to remove the battery except for major maintenance just to get it out of the way. Relocate to fire wall ?
