Re: Post or not?

Yes there would be a weight savings. Without weighing things, and going only by sheer estimation, I would guess aluminum would save you around 75 lbs. That is a very rough and quick guess.

Re: Post or not?

OHV nearing completion. I will be making about a half dozen of these in iron next for some of the 5 main iron block customers.

Re: Post or not?

Yeah, discounts for things, like package deals. Great idea!! Block package, plus cylinder head, intake, aluminum front cover, header, flywheel housing, and probably more things, all for one...

Re: Post or not?

PM me and I will set you up with more (video, machining pics, etc..) than you found out in this thread. All old news, to be sure, but you apparently have not seen it.

Re: Post or not?

A block and head by themselves would be around 1/3 the weight of iron. A little comes back in aluminum as the blocks need to be sleeved with ductile sleeves. I would have to go weigh a sleeve to...

Re: Post or not?

I have posted quite a bit of information since I started this a while back, messing around starting in 2012, or so, while I did my normal workload. In 2014 I had a running engine. I imagine some...

Re: Post or not?

OK, here you go. Since I only have 15-20 people after one of these iron blocks, the idea is to see what 3 main blocks will look like.

I even put a picture of one with an iron Thomas head in the...

Post or not?

Up until recent customers inquired about an iron 5 main block for use with their 5 main cranks, I have confined myself to aluminum 5 main blocks and regular 3 main blocks. But, since opportunity...

Re: Hi Compression Heads

1)The gain will depend on current H.P. but you would be safe to assume around 4-5%.
2) Cost depends on what you are after.

What are you after? Snyder sells 2 stock looking heads, and I sell Winfield heads, B heads, Thomas heads (iron), and I am soon to be in the testing phase of my new stock looking crow's foot chambered...

Re: More head casting progress...

18-1900 range. The more I can do, the less the price will be.

Re: More head casting progress...

I'm in the prototyping stage right now. The first ones would be pretty expensive, but, if these follow the same kind of low demand that my other heads have, they will probably be at $525 plus...

Re: More head casting progress...

Thanks. I always seem to make just a couple short of what I need.

I have several OHV orders to fill as well as being behind on blocks. Good problem to have.

After having to wait a few weeks since getting a dozen Winfield head castings in, I was finally able to get to machining them this past weekend. I think they are machining up very well. Several...
