Re: Nu-Rex popout look alike ignition switch

I have used the Nu-Rex switch for several years now with no problem. Looks good in the instrument panel, very similar to the original pop-out. I've had problems in the past with several of the...

Re: Frustration

I had the same problem at one time. The battery would turn the starter and engine over well, but the engine would not start. When I would let off the starter button, the engine would suddenly fire...

Re: removing flame arrestor or filler screen

SUCCESS ! I got the screen out, but I did have to partially collapse it to do so. The problem was, as 1crosscut suggested, the screen is bulged out below the threaded ring. I think that probably...

Re: removing flame arrestor or filler screen

I didn't have much time to work on this tonight, but I think I made a little progress. 1955cj5 posted a picture that really helped me understand that, as he says, there are only a few threads. Then...

removing flame arrestor or filler screen

I need help removing the flame arrestor (gas filler screen) from my '29 Fordor. This is a completed car, not one under construction, so I must protect the paint, etc. and do this with the tank in...

Re: Lightened Flywheel

I drove Model A's for 40+ years with stock engines and flywheels. Then Daddy had an engine rebuilt for his (now my) coupe with a lightened flywheel and V-8 clutch. I've driven that for 10+ years...

Re: Which Model A for a coast to coast trip?

SPORT COUPE! Everyone knows the sport coupe is the most beautiful of the Model A's!

Gives you roll-up windows, but also a rear curtain you can open for hot weather. Remove the rumble seat...

Re: Cracked head- pic

I had one cracked in the same location and had the same questions you have. I finally decided that the crack was where the compression leak into the water jacket was occurring--and I know it does...

Re: Engine noise only when hot

Re: Transport recommendations

I recommend Bill Squires of Bill's Auto Works. He provided excellent service for me in a cross-country transport. Not cheap, but good. See post #4 above.

Re: Learning how send pictures

I saw this car in either 1966 or 1967 in Maryville, TN. At that time, it belonged to one of the Coulter brothers, I think. Was 'specially assembled for a member of the Ford family.

Re: Identify Old picture of Model A

The 28-29 Fordors, and the 29 Carbiolets have a cowl similar to the 30-31's. Not like the 28-29 tudors, coupes, roadsters, and phaetons.

Re: That "Opportunity Knocks" Engine

I ran an engine for many years with a crack in that same location. Never did anything to it. It just oozed a bit, but never leaked enough to drip. Lasted until I knocked the center main out by...

Re: Brakes quiz!! ID the mistery system.

These "brake floaters" were available from JC Whitney and Warshawsky in in 1960's. I installed a set on my grandfather's coupe (now my coupe.) They didn't help one bit with worn out brakes! Removed...
