Re: Headlight bulbs

Yes, Eric is correct however just so we are clear, this mindset has been stated over and over by the unknowing as being a detriment to using LEDs. The LEDs are an advantage, -not a disadvantage IMO....

Re: An interesting idea regarding cylinder heads.

John, the issue is that most local club members rarely drive their cars where the extra compression would be of a benefit. Besides the local 4th of July or Christmas parade, an occasional trip to...

Re: looking for a ride

Paul, my local Fastenal shut their doors late last year as a way to cut costs. Many stores are no longer using company owned trucks to ship their merchandise, so they are no longer taking LTL...

Re: Sound proofing\ insulation

I honestly don't know/remember specifically. We use both sizes of the felt in our upholstery shop, so since we have it already. Therefore they just cut it whatever size thickness for where it will...

Re: An interesting idea regarding cylinder heads.

Tod, your business ...your call, however somewhere along the way greed has overtaken in this country on both sides of the fence (manufacturer and consumer).

With many things besides Model-A...

Re: Sound proofing\ insulation

When I insulate one, I use Dynamat to cut down on vibrations that cause 'road noise'. Depending on the location, I use foil and " and " Underfelt. In the top, I use piano wire to form a zig-zag...

Re: 2nd appeal for modern Rubelite Red Paint code

Probably because most restorers don't use base-clear when they are restoring. DuPont is no longer in the paint business either, which is why they likely could not cross-reference it.

How I...

Re: Upholstery question

Vern, you gotta help out a little more. What bodystyle? Tell us which bodystyle and I probably can give you the part number for the wadding (-correct nomenclature for "padding") on whatever panel...

Re: Water pump "studs"

Chuck, my initial thought with that scenario is, ...how often do we find ourselves replacing water pumps on the side of the road?

Second, I realize you said a few minutes, but lets just bump that...

Likely a very accurate statement.:rolleyes:

I guess for me personally, I have been on Model-A tours for better than 50 years now, and I honestly cannot think of a situation that has...

Re: Water pump "studs"

Colin, when these first came out a decade or so ago, the general consensus was "why"?? The first part of questioning 'why' is; How often does the water pump need to be removed? I know of restored...

Re: Does anyone know if 30-31 Coupe and Tudor have same B pillars?

Ok, that is the Quarter Lock Pillar Assembly. As I stated above, the part numbers are different however it can be a small difference and it would have a different part number. Unfortunately I do...

Re: Does anyone know if 30-31 Coupe and Tudor have same B pillars?

Jim, maybe we should first make sure we are talking about the same thing. There really is no such thing as a 'B' Pillar in Ford's nomenclature, but I am guessing you are speaking of the Quarter Lock...

Re: Restoring Ignition Coils

I am not sure how it does it. I would think it is more about leaking secondary voltage back to a ground creating a dead-short. You can run a coil for about 10 minutes at the widest gap and the...

Re: Restoring Ignition Coils

My coil tester has a Heat mode built in where the instructions say to test the coil first, then place the switch onto Heat mode for 10 minutes or until it feels quite warm, then test again. I will...
