Lots of info and a very interesting event. This isn't really a race as it is held on public roads. I think there is a...

Torchy Blane in a flat head Ford

Comcast has been showing Torchy Blane movies lately. They are full of 30s and 40s cars in pristine condition. Just finished watching one where Torchy (Glenda Farrel) is driving a '34 or '35...

Re: Scam or ledigiment

I had a very good experience selling through Streetside Classics. They moved my Model A in a couple of weeks and the entire transaction was pain free. They are mostly in eastern US and you need to...

Re: Painting with Rustoleum?

I painted a '48 Jeep CJ2 with tan (sand) color rustoleum and it came out fairly well and was a durable finish. No noticible change after a year or so, always garaged. Have since sold the Jeep so...

Re: How rare is an "August" spare tire cover for 1936 ?

Picture of the one on my '36 Phaeton. Car built in August of '35, near as my research can tell.

Fuel Pump and ethanol

I have a replacement fuel pump that was purchased about 2 years ago from one of the old Ford suppliers ( don't recall which one). The pump has started leaking around the diaphragm, an active leak,...

Re: More radiator questions

Something I do not have is a fan shroud. My fan is a stock 4 blade unit with the tips trimmed to avoid hitting the header tank. My problem is certainly fan oriented, just not moving enough air. As...

Re: More radiator questions

Those are good points. The intake is the same one that came with the car, but I don't have enough experience to tell if it is a stock original. It is aluminum and has a single 97. The engine has...

More radiator questions

Some have responded (thanks very much) to my radiator cap question, but here are some more.

Does anyone know of a smaller than stock diameter pulley for the generator. This is the pulley that...

Re: Leaking Radiator Cap

I do have a pair of 165 thermostats in the outlets from the heads (59AB heads). If driven very briskly, these t'stats appear to be wide open, but of course they still have a relatively small flow...

Re: 36' grill question. . . .

Here's a photo of mine, taken when I last had the grille off. Just had it powder coated satin black. This photo may offer some help even though it doesn't show both edges.

BTW, I got a hardware...

Leaking Radiator Cap

My '36 has had a leaking radiator cap since I bought the car. It came with a cap, without the wire bail, plus one of the, I think, Drake caps that has the bail. Both leak around the seal surface of...

Re: Aluminum radiator ?

So far I'm pleased with the Brassworks radiator for my '36 phaeton. Not an exact copy, but close in appearance and a good mechanical fit into the cramped space in the nose. I have had cool running,...
