Re: Noisy Valves
As Patrick L says, I'd rather hear the valves than not and as WHN says, don't rush into takin things apart
I have changed valves, guides and camshaft etc while the engine is in the car but you have...

Re: 7 Tooth steering box tip .
John, I fully understand how the RHD parts supply is intermittent, if you can get them at all. I use eccentric bushes as a matter of course to get the best possible fit. The last set of 7 tooth gears...

McMimmcs, Talk about agreeing. Your profile says you are in Pigeon Forge, yet this is floating about. https://www.sarnialambton.on.ca/business/mcmichael-wayne-immigration

Re: J.R. Bullock Did Another Fine Job
The B motors Ford used in 1932-4? used a bigger carburettor than the A. There were two versions of it. The early one is commonly referred to as a B1, the later one as a B2.
Reminds me of Bananas in...

Re: 7 Tooth steering box tip .
Makes sense to me!
BTW, I use eccentric bushes for the sector shaft to get zero play when I assemble a 7 tooth steering box. I think a similar result could be achieved if the bushes could be moved...

Re: front plate dumb question
In this jurisdiction, we are exempt from running a front plate on these cars but if we had to, I think I'd just zip tie it to the front bumper or at the most, make a mount for that location. I don't...

Re: Benefits of a thermostat?
That's what the extra holes do. They allow water from the engine to circulate past the T'stat so it gets warm water quickly. I have 3 x 1/8" holes in mine and have run that way for years. If there...

Re: Water pump questions
The original style water pump is a poor design, IMO. To say they last for years only says to me that the car is hardly used. The stainless steel shafts we have to use these days are soft. The packing...

Re: Scammers on here
0 posts is a give away. Once a "new member" tries a scam, he is reported and Ryan promptly deletes them from the forum. Did you report those 3?

Re: "Diamond engine"
Sammy's Model A knowledge is legendary and he is not backwards in sharing it. I've known him for quite a while now and he has been helpful right through. Sam and Bonnie too.

Re: A working Sedan Delivery
I wouldn't like to be in that car if it hit something solid. Passengers would end up needing their own machining.

Re: New Shoes !
NICE! Wouldn't I like a set of radials for my car! I've heard different reports on how long they last. Do you get more miles out of them or is it just the better ride and handling.
I'm looking...

Re: King pin replace
Reaming is fine, especially precision reaming but honing has limitations as I have described.

Re: King pin replace
I had to google to see what a Sonnen Pin Hone was was. This is what I found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5UqmpMME88 which looks VERY agricultural to me. Those big end bearings are not likely to...
