Re: Looking for 1939 Ford Deluxe cardboard door panels

Easily made up from flexible fibreboard.
Any upholsterer shop should have it.

Re: Help with driver door on 1937 Ford Tudor sedan

You should be able to get one in reasonable condition for 1/2 that price.
Put an ad in the Wanted section.
Too much work ( and expense ) to alter a 37/40 coupe or fordor front door.

Re: 1938 Woody Transmission Cover

37 and 38 are pretty much the same.
39's are wider across the top and have a semi-circular cutout on the upper LH side.

Re: 1939 Radiator/Grille panels

1938 deluxe and 1939 std share the same side shrouds
They are called Radiator side assembly deflectors.

Re: 1939 (not 40) heater firewall template needed

I believe the 39 convertibles had different defroster ducts than the closed ones.
Kube will know.

Re: Dennis Carpenter '40 running boards

Good original 39/40 bare running boards come up on ebay or Ford barn from time to time.
I would buy them and a set of running board rubbers.
I don't think Drake makes the rubbers anymore so that...

Re: 1940 Ford convertible body tags

One of my 39 deluxe convertibles ( ex USA ) had a body tag up in the LH corner.
From memory it ended with 074 indicating the first week of production.

Re: crash

Try Dave in Inglewood.
Ring him then send some pictures.
They have worked on a lot of pre-war Ford V8's.
Bought 1 or 2 of mine back from the dead.

Re: Interior panels

Have a look at Drake's illustration of the package tray wood kit that he sells ( or used to ).
Most common item I have found to be missing is the spare wheel bracket.
The interior rear trim...

Re: 1940 Ford Deluxe X member sheet metal original thickness

I have a very original '40 Pickup that came from Illinois.
Chassis # 18539 9xxx which would indicate a fairly early example.
It does not have the reinforcing plate.

Re: 1939 Standard coupe grille panels

Those side panels look to be in reasonable condition.
Not a bad price either.

Re: What is it about 1939 Standard Fords?

There are 3 sets of stainless pairs varying in length.
They come up on e-bay occasionally.
You can trim some 38 std grille pieces to suit as well.
