If I had a Packard or an Auburn or such I'd put whitewalls on but alas, I have a humble Ford.

Anything but blackwalls seems pretentious.

I think they were all donated to the PD and the one with the WWs came from Barnum & Bailey. It was a retired clown car.

If I had a Packard or a Cadillac etc I'd be sporting whitewalls.

But I have a humble A Model Ford (and a bottom of the line roadster at that). To run WWs would seem pretentious.
