Re: Problems with windshield hitting gastank
If it fit before the new header... then yes, sounds like you have to trim the wood. In my case, I was assembling a new header with a windshield that I assumed was for a 1930 Model A. Same issue,...

Re: A of the day wheels
When I started my truck project - I didn’t realize that the wheels that came with it were 16” rims mounted to 21” hubs. Wasn’t the look I was going for, and the tires were pretty dry rotted.... ...

Re: Paint colours
I purchased a copy of the book when I started my project. I see that it has Chicle Drap and Copra Drag (on the same page). We found that the chips really changed when viewed outside under...

Re: New Pickup Bed Vs. rebuilding the Original?
I faced the same problem - Do I fix all the rust areas, and straighten out the sheet metal, then body work and then the paint? I went that way, and after many hours (estimate 30+) I still have a bed...

Re: 30/31 Pickup body wood patterns
I bought my wood parts from Alan at
www.classicwoodproductsllc.com
They were very knowledgeable, and didn’t insist on making me buy wood that I already had. Pretty good pricing over buying a...

Re: 30/31 Pickup body wood patterns
I’m past the wood stage. I found a guy who would sell me just the pieces I needed - rear upper cab brace, wood inside the door jams. Let me know if you want his name.

Re: Looking for a new Pickup Bed
Missed the bed and cab. It is just as well that I continue my bed project as I’m all in.
Decided to install my new white Oak boards and stainless strips. First thing I discovered is that the...

Re: Saga of the Hood - CCPU Now the visor
I don’t have a very good way to hang the items - and from my experience in painting the Visor - it starts moving, and becomes pretty hard to control. Like Pop says, it’s easier to paint it flat.

Re: Saga of the Hood - CCPU
Yea, I counted them because I managed to loose two of them... How hard is that, they should have been in the cab, right? Then try to find two more that aren’t Phillips head......
Now I’ve...

Saga of the Hood - CCPU
I’ve caught some warm weather the last few weeks - and got my hood painted before winter. I just thought I would post a few pictures of the process.
The Passenger top panel had a crease about 18”...

Re: CCPU Windshield and header panel - wrong?
Went back and read post #3 - I might be ok... the panel is tight against the wood where the hinge fits, and it is pressed back so there isn’t a gap now, and I can get the screws to hit the wood. No...

Re: CCPU Windshield and header panel - wrong?
Where does the fender welt go? It sounds like it is nailed under the metal header, at the top of the wood? I just got done nailing that to the wood.
Across the entire top of the wood header - ...

Just saw this post... I’m about to install my window - in a very old frame with a lot of work on it. (Rusted, bent, welded and ...well you get the idea)
To stretch or not to stretch, that is the...

Re: CCPU Windshield and header panel - wrong?
Thanks 30-Pickup. Actually, I meant my pictures wouldn’t help - not yours. I saw that drawing - and on my cross section - the bottom part of the wooden header isn’t wide enough. There is about...

CCPU Windshield and header panel - wrong?
I've inserted the header panel that extends up the front of the wooden header to the top of the cab. It is bowed somewhat, so I've pushed it back as far as it will go. When I set the windshield...
