Model A Fords at N.C. Transportation Museum

I thought this might interest some people here. The NCTM at Spencer, NC is having some car shows, and one of these is a Ford day on August 1. This is all on their website and Facebook page. Here is a...

Re: Model A CRASH??

I know that a lot of people resent those of us who drive trucks and SUV types, but I don't think we drive any more aggressively than the Camry, foreign sports car and Prius-types. The simple fact is...

Re: 30 Tudor work

Agreed! I have always loved the Model A Ford, even if I am mostly a GM kind of guy otherwise.

Re: 30 Tudor work

Thanks, Mike. I have admired your car and used it as inspiration!
I am working on it at my own slow pace, having had it since the seventies, but not really restored in the true sense. As I have...

Re: 30 Tudor work

I am sorry to say that the windshield glass is in poor condition, being cracked and foggy. It was apparently replaced several decades earlier, too, so it is not original. The driver's window is...

Re: Bonnie and Clyde's A?????

The death car was not a Model A, as Stouchton has noted. I seem to recall seeing the 34 displayed at the 1964 World's Fair in NYC when I was a teenager.

Just thought I'd post a little update on my 1930 Model A activity here. A couple of my buddies and I have been working on "Miss Annie" during the summer and fall of 2014.

Re: Living in the south with a Model A

It's in the sixties here for the last couple of day. I was born and raised right here in eastern NC, and really do love my state. We do have some oppressively hot and humid summers, but that is to be...

Re: Model A car names

In recent years, I have taken to calling my standard black Tudor "Miss Annie"...mostly as it reminds me of a prim and proper conservative old lady and the name starts with "A"...... and I thought it...

Re: Biker's

Back when I first got mine in running shape, I took it to a couple of local parades and stayed around afterward to meet and greet people. I was surprised at the interest from young women! They were...

Re: Our Model A wreck in Austin, TX

This right here----excellent advice to follow. Dates, times, and details tend to fade from memory sooner than we think. I'd also go photograph that intersection from several viewpoints. Very sorry to...

Re: Amazing things they turned Model A's into back in the day..

Somewhere around here I have a photo of a Model A sedan being used by a local farmer to run a peanut picker machine. He had it on jacks, with a belt on the wheel and powering a pulley on the peanut...

Re: ToBacco Road Tour room for Ford barn people up date

By the way NCDAVE, the name was chosen because many folks refer to the highway between Chapel Hill and Durham as the "Tobacco Road" which connects the Blue Devils and the Tarheels basketball teams....

Re: Urban Legend About Our Cars Sitting?

I am in the camp of "using it is better than sitting". That has been my observation with my Model A, my old tractor, airplanes, and fire engines. My Model A was in storage for the last five or so...

Re: ToBacco Road Tour room for Ford barn people up date

Was this tour named after the Caldwell book that depicts poor depression-era Southerners in Georgia? I am a native of NC and well-aware of the state's tobacco industry, and also how the South is...

Re: Women and model A's

Glad you were able to get that car. I am doing black wheels but may eventually also get a set to do red. Can you please tell me which paint you used to do your red wheels? They look just right to me....

Re: Women and model A's

Purdy,
I bet that old girl was mighty glad you came along and made her beautiful again! Looks as if somebody beat on her with a hatchet at some point before you got to her.
Yes, I also enjoy your...
