Re: The forgotten 1960 Fords

True but also Ford ran batches of intakes, heads ect You could very easi;y have parts with date codes 2-3 months older than the build date of the car I did read that whole article, very interest but...

Re: The forgotten 1960 Fords

Numbers matching is chevy talk, there is no such thing in the Ford world other than having consistent date codes. Not the same though.

When I was young, I didn't think much of a 60, pretty ugly...

Re: 56 Ford F100 New Project - Engine Questions

Personally I think those heads are over rated or at least over priced. The earlier ones are not posted. I'm looking for the 58-early 59, 113 heads. Same big valves, a little less compression and all...

Re: PCV systems on the smallblocks

You can't really see the pcv, it is off the 2 big vac ports and Teed. 5.0 efi intake modified to use twin .98 2100s on my 260.

Re: Value of the early small block cast iron crank and water pump pulleys

I'm running a 63 260 in my hotrod. My old valve covers are still around somewhere I think. I think the intake went to scrap because I built one. I also have a spare 64 260 on a stand. It does not...

Re: '57 F-100 Gas Gauge

So if you disconnect the wire at the sender, does it go to empty? Touch the wire to ground and it should peg full. Pull the sender and do an ohm test full and empty positions and tell us what you...

Re: '57-'60 F100 questions

None of those doors or panels were ever upholstered new. Also look on the bottom side of the door. This is where any rust will start.
If you were here, I'd cut you a good deal on a nice set of...

Re: '59 F-100 bolt pattern

I've probably got a couple sets of the correct 15" wheels for a 59 F100. Not worth much if you drove in my yard but they do bring ok money plus shipping on ebay. Also have a set of bottle cab hubcaps...

Re: 312 rebuild. Look what Ford forgot ?

I dropped a junkyard 302 into a tourists blown up car, early 80s. Since a lot was different, I re-used his intake and other bits. Car ran like crap, backfired and opened up the muffler. After much...

Re: Need water pump rebuilt or to purchase

About a year ago I needed a pump for my 59 pickup. The 3/4" shaft were unobtanium. I finally found a couple places that still had NOS and paid through the teeth for one. I must have found a dozen...

Re: ford 4 spd overdrive to 59ab

A little off topic but I have a friend who has been putting those in Model As for years and used to sell the kit. No modifications required to stock cross member. He used a truck bell housing and...

Re: fe motors

I put a 332 into a 69 highboy once. I just made some plates from 1/2 stock, drilled the holes for the mounts and for the block. I did have to slot the motor mount holes in the towers a little to get...

Re: Y block flywheel ring gear

I only ever tried to flip one, on a 428 and there was enough bevel on the gear that it wouldn't let the starter drive disengage when the engine started.
after that, I always just bought a new one....

Re: Looking for Ford F-100 sites

Yup, I'm a regular over there and the 47 earlier crowd is a great bunch of guys. Not many of them butchering stuff. I don't hang out much in the 48-56 crowd, don't own any of those.

Re: rear main seal replacement

I've got some guaranteed to work snake oil in it now, what can it hurt. I do like to drive the old truck everyday, just around town errands. I'm not sure what to do with it. I like the old truck but...

rear main seal replacement

I have done a few of these many years ago but my memory tends to forget all but the traumatic, struggles, pain ect. Lol. My 59 4x4 pickup sat for at least 25 years before I saved it. Now the rear...

Re: Not Late V8: '80 T-Bird problem

This is best and a method I use on every old car I bring in. The worst part is what to do with 10-15 gallons of rotten gas and your clothes that now smell like it.

Re: oil filter

Maybe I'm wrong but the 272 was available in 57 as was tyhe spin on filter, so a spin on could be correct. As for the Fram on judging, I would cringe a little too on that level of event to see cheapo...
