This is a nearly six year old thread.....

The problem was solved and the hole repaired six years ago.

The panel adhesive worked just fine and is holding up perfectly.

Five years and still no issues.....maybe 2500 miles?

The catch is, it's sort of expensive, comes in a two part cartridge and requires a special dispenser.

AA CCPU window in the upper right corner. Should be the same as an A CCPU

I went and found the old blocks.

The blocks that fit at the rear of the cab have only one hole....so only one bolt.

So I started looking through pictures of when I first brought the ccpu home and was cleaning it up.

Lots of debris under the seat......but this is a picture of the rear of the cab after it was...

So I took a couple pictures.

The two bolts seen from below in post #8, are at the back wall of the cab behind the seat. (You will notice that this is a different ccpu from the one in post 8.)

Get the better quality tools....and the cork gasket sets seem to work best.

Here is the way I did it...as yet untested though...

The condenser is attached to one of the cowl seam bolts, and the flag end is loose for now, but the idea is to slip it under the nut that holds...

I recently installed a Pertronix 40111 1.5 ohm epoxy coil and the ccpu has never run better.....

I like it so much I got one for my '51 CJ-3a.....it too runs great...

Maybe, the person that added the gaskets was not the same person who soldered it closed.

Could they have been using it for a radiator cap?

You could use some solder wick and remove most of that...

I'm sure that is what I had to do. One large bolt at the torque tube end and the two at the brake back plate ought to do it.

You have to make sure the shortened pitman arm is a tight fit on the sector shaft. I had to clean up the gap in the shortened pitman arm where the bolt pinches it to the sector shaft so the fit was...

My tie rod/drag link also showed signs of rubbing. All the wear marks were rusty just like the rest of the tie rod so what ever caused it was in the forgotten past. We have owned the ccpu since 1962....
