Re: Dome light

I just managed to get the lens out and the bulb is good. Must be the wiring.

Re: Dome light

I found the snap ring, and it looks just like you said. However, I cannot get anything under the ends of the snap ring. It is really tight, and doesn't want to come out at all. The dome light...

Re: Dome light

My dome light on my '31 Tudor has quit working. I can't see how to remove the cover and I don't want to break it. How does it come off?

Re: New Model A owner

I had to have the left rear fender repaired last winter on my pretty nice '31 Tudor. The shop charged $1400 to remove, repair, repaint and replace the fender. At this rate, you could easily have...

Re: steering wheel turn, full left to right 31 deluxe roadster

When I bought my 31 Tudor, it had the shortened pitman arm, and it wouldn't turn sharp at all to the left. I had to back up to make a u-turn at green arrows. I put the standard one on and it now...

Re: Oil Drips

I replaced the engine in mine with a new one from Bert's. That leak is taken care of, but the Mitchell tranny, Overdrive and the rear end all leak. I put cardboard from the tranny all the way to...

Pitman arm and drag link

My '31 Tudor will turn quite sharply to the right, but a left turn is not nearly as sharp. I thought it was the steering box that someone else had redone and didn't get back together right. A...

Re: Not much demand for Model As at any price or is it antique cars in general?

We brought our very nice '31 Tudor to Mesa Arizona for the winter, and have had it in three car shows since we got down here. The only interest is in cars with blowers sticking out of the hoods. ...

Re: 283 pistons ? who makes these for the A'

I bought a car that had a set of 283 pistons in it. They worked fine, but the bottom end of that engine went bad. I don't think there is a pinch of "better" with them though.

Re: Weber carb

The regulator isn't colored at all. It is just a Holley 12-804, and I bought a really good liquid filled low pressure gauge and have the pressure set with a new 12-804 regulator at just a hair over...

Re: Weber carb

I have a Carter P60504 fuel pump, supposed to put out 1-4lbs. I installed a Holley 12-804 regulator downstream from the pump, and have the whole thing set as low as the regulator will set, probably...

Weber carb

I had a real issue with flooding at stop lights last year, and it finally got so bad that it quit one day and I couldn't get it started at all. It wouldn't even try. I was headed for Arizona...

Re: How do you avoid people swarming your car when you stop?

People love these old cars, and many of them dream of having one of their own. I am always glad to talk to them about the car, and I am proud they want to look at it. But, when I don't have time to...

Re: ignition question

It is most definitely TDC on the compression stroke, and both valves are closed. The only problem, if there is a problem, is that the number one firing position is 180 degrees from the original...

ignition question

I recently got my new Bert's engine for my tudor. When it was running the old engine, I got a petronix ignition and installed it. When I put it in the new engine, the number one spark position...

Re: mitchell overdrive

I don't know about the value part. I bought mine with the Mitchell already in it, and I don't know if I would have been interested in plunking down $2300 for one if had it not already been in...

Re: Oil Pressure Gauge

I agree with Purdy. Just seeing the oil pressure gauge telling me that I have less than 4 pounds of pressure might even scare ME.

Re: Car cover

I got a really nice cover for mine from Bert's for $255. It is heavy and is fine for my garage through the winter, but I would like to find a light one like you would cover a motorcycle with, for...
