Re: Is it possible to date my 28CCPU?

I'm not sure if this applies to the 28's but on my 29 there is a date stamped up-side-down on the fuel tank, driver side, just above the seam, in the engine compartment.

There has been much...

Original gas caps were vented but not with a hole in the top...picture is of a 28-29 cap.

Original radiator caps were not vented. The radiator vents through the overflow tube.

Both would have...

Re: How to connect instrument panel light?

A 1928 may be different, but my 1929 has the single light unit wired directly to the ammeter stud.

The unit is a combination light unit and switch, and operates independent of the main headlight...

Re: Routing of Speedometer cable on 29 CCPU

Thanks Bob....I went over and took pictures.

Mine is routed like yours.

That extra wire is for the water temp gauge, and the truck used to have a hot water heater where that blocked hole is....

Re: Routing of Speedometer cable on 29 CCPU

I've wondered about that. The picture is old, one I took when I first brought the ccpu home....note the wooden knob on the starter plunger..

Seems I tried to re-route it or maybe just considered...

Re: Routing of Speedometer cable on 29 CCPU

I'll give it a shot....

The first picture shows it routed over the muffler, to a clip on the upper frame rail, then forward under the toe board into the engine compartment.

Inside the engine...

Excellent.

You might just replace one u-bolt and then the other. This should keep everything in place.

I have a 29 ccpu.

To replace those u-bolts, the bed needed to be removed. But I replaced the rear
crossmember at the same time. So bed removal was a given.

Other body styles may allow...

Re: 1929 double a won't start, help

I think the vendors sell pre bent steel pipe for this.

Copper will do until...

Here is a picture for reference.

Don't forget the bolt that comes through...

Re: 28-29 lower firewall clearance notch at throttle linkage pivot

The Service Bulletins page 337, April 1929, mention the new control assembly design.

Re: 28-29 lower firewall clearance notch at throttle linkage pivot

I have no...
