My buddy had a car dipped and he took a propane torch and heated the seams until it all bubbled out, and it did bubble out!

My buddy had a car dipped and he took a propane torch to the seams and heated them a bit to boil out the fluid. he did see it bubble out.

Valve spring removal with heads on possible??

Have not tried yet figuring I would ask the pros before I try to wrestle them out. It’s a 59 block with mushroom stem valves and 185 isky springs.was wondering if I can get springs out of there...

Maybe switch it back to Henry stuff …..

Yes I have those gaskets the 3 big ones for the lid, not sure why I got 3 ?? Looks like there different thicknesses. And I did get the 2 small ones also. Something is missing have to check solvent...

Well I just got these a few weeks ago the dipstick tube just touched it no pressure on it so I think a slight bend is all it needs. Seems there is a indent in the casting but it is back farther....

Must be some kinda phenomenon around here I looked at another block I had and it’s the same thing 59 block 3-1/16 bore and passes pencil test. Feels like it has a lot of meat in cylinder walls also....

will 8mm plug wires fit in 1942 crab cap???

I have a bunch of 8mm braided copper core spark plug wire i want to run. will it fit in a crab dizzy cap? The stock plug wires are 7mm correct? SO will the 8mm plug wires fit in distributor cap...

I am looking for the same seal for mine. Pech33 mine looks exactly like yours with the brass washer on it. the seal was just crumbs when I took it out.

you are right Tim on the order of checking but i have a mag tester i got a deal on. it takes way less time to mag it than pressure testing it.

i don't see a need for rubber washers for the 59 block if studs are still in they should be sealed. the 8ba i think you will need them. I would start by cleaning decks and valve to bore areas and pan...
