P.S. - Alice was almost 62 when we met, so just old, not very old. ...

Re: Steering Box 7 tooth vs 2 Tooth vs F100

I rebuilt 2-tooth boxes in my first two '30 Model As and was very satisfied.
Did learn on the first one that needle bearings are not needed and an unscrupulous machine shop will ream you out as...

Cracking on the sides is why I'm replacing the current Firestones. They are probably 30 years old, came on the blue Tudor I bought from Hoop and I think he...

Re: tell a Model A related story

Intercourse PA is just a few miles from Blue Ball PA, which is frequently mis-stated as "Blue Balls".

Opinions on tires wanted-

Town Sedan needs new shoes.

I have been VERY pleased with Goodyears in the past, but the price difference for Universals is significant and tempting.

Has anyone out there used both and how did...

Re: Plans for the 30

agree with Brent that 12V is totally unnecessary.

our Town Sedan starts quick, the lights are bright and the horn sounds perfect.

all with an el-cheapo 6v battery from Tractor Supply or...

Re: Model A Town Car?

Thanks, Brent.
I spent a day at Harrah's collection while hitch-hiking cross country in 1974- it was a fantastic experience.
What I should have said is I don't think Harrah would have had an...

Re: Mitchell O.D.

our Mitchell was installed by previous owner in 1995.
I have put around 12,000 miles on it since 2009, and expect it to outlive me.
These are well-built and very tough units.

This year it was a...

Re: Engine Number No Stars

Most inportant is that your engine # match the # on title.
If not, simply restamp.
If you actually remove the body, the frame # will be a mere confirmnation or denial of the title accuracy.

Re: Model A Town Car?

Would like to see a rear view of this car- looks rounder it the rear roof edge than other town cars.
Is this just how the photo angle makes it look?
Don't believe Harrah would have had it if it...

Re: Itís getting harder to drive my A

25 years ago I had a Tudor with worn out seat springs, even 20 miles was uncomfortable.
Our modern car was a Volvo 244, I measured the front seat and found it was a good fit.
Got a seat from a junk...

Re: Happy Birthday to our car.....

Re: Happy Birthday to our car.....

You got me thinking- the engine number was re-stamped on a new block in 2012 so the actual age of the engine is unknown.

It does match the serial number on the title but I have not and will never...

Re: Need advise buying a 1930 model A coupe

Depends on what you want.
Do you have the skills and enjoy the process of restoration?
If not, rust repair, paint and interior are NOT inexpesive.

"runs and drives" covers a wide range of...

On a recent road trip, I learned that most air dispensers out on the highway have a long nozzle that is incompatible with metal valve stems.
Will be carrying my 90 degree nozzle on the next trip.....
