Re: Bleeding brakes- not working

Yes, bench bleed the master cylinder before you put it in the car. Be careful to put some scrap pieces of wood or something similar between your vice and the master cylinder. Some years ago I got...

Re: Need Advice on Removing Broken off Stud and Head

Dang. I hate broken bolts/studs. Yes to your question. Drain the water and loosely put the bolts back in. It is an old trick.

Another idea - I made a head puller tool a few years ago from a...

Re: TIG welder recomendations

I use a Miller 215 Multiprocess machine. Yes, they are costly, but it works very well. If the look of the weld is not important, less expensive machines will do.

Re: Rebuilt starter

There is a place in Arlington, TX called Ream's Auto Electric. They have done all sorts of starter and generator work for me over the years. I highly recommend them.

Re: Brake Bleeding on 1940 Sedan

You can cap it if you want, but it's not necessary. Just remember to keep the fluid level in the master cylinder high enough so you don't pull any air into the system.

Re: New misfire - sticky valves?

One thing I have done to narrow down the problem is to one by one remove plug wires with the engine running to see which cylinder(s) is acting ugly.

Re: shipping frustration

I only ship via UPS now. Sad. If I am buying and the seller requires payment up front, I insist on paying via a means that I can dispute later should an issue arise. I've not had any major issues...

Re: Repair exhaust bolt hole

Thanks for the info. Always learning. Were the larger 7/16-14 bolts used in the front exhaust manifold bolts of all flatheads, more specifically the early, non-vented ones? I'm asking because I...

Re: Ad Scams

I have been wondering about what Fred A posted about earlier. What's the reason for not allowing posts with questions about items for sale? Just curious.

slowpoke - where are you taking the motor for the work? I ask because I am in N. Texas as well and am looking for a shop to work on one of my '34 motors.

Re: 59ab hard to turn over

No, you won't hurt anything by running it with a few plugs out. Tell us about the front seal - original style rope seal or aftermarket one piece/modern style?
