On my 37 Fordor the tubes were routed behind the side kickpanels and exited via a hole in the bottom of that area.

wow, that looks like a part to the front bench seat. I have those same parts stashed in my front seat pile of stuff. In the attached pic, it shows the one on the driver's side, close to the handle...

I had the same problem on my37 Fordor. I carefully drilled it out and installed a set screw in its place.
