transmission leak

trying to stop this leak that caused the latest damage to the 3 speed OD/Transmission in my '51 Merc.
replaced the tailhousing seal, not leaking there. it's leaking where countershaft exits flush...

just returned from cruisin the coast and on the way down lost the OD and reverse. during the trip, the tranny thumped, like it was suddenly thrown out of OD, and it was. thought i'd check the reverse...

took the rod caps off, along with the main caps, only had one piston stuck so bad it wouldn't come out, even with a little coaxing with the ole BFH. gonna soak that one for a while. crank came right...

still haven't been able to get it to rotate, even after PB Blasting the cylinders; went ahead and dropped the pan(appears to be a ford crank).gonna remove the oil pump and was considering going ahead...

thanks for that advice ole don; i know some have the logo, some don't. no logic as to which ones do/don't, i.e. intake vs. exhaust

if i don't plan on re-using any of the valve assemblies, parts etc. is there any use in keeping any order to them? i.e. which cylinder they come from, intake vs. exhaust, all parts together, etc?...

okay, didn't realize the keys were up in the sleeves. took some rigging of the spring compression tool i had but....4 down, 12 to go. then on to the pistons.

well i've got the intake off and both heads, and all 47 of the head bolts came out. that's right broke one off. i realized that the oil filter canister bracket was mounted with 3 of the head bolts...
