Re: Dropped axle
Might do that when I get closer to actually dropping the 40. Just thought that maybe someone else had been down this road and could give a little insight.

Thank you but, I already found that info on their web site. No mention of the steering arms,...

Re: Dropped axle
So he can take care of everything, including the dropped steering arms, shortened tie rod and drag link. Any idea on a ballpark price to perform this.

What else needs to be modified or fabricated when doing the 2 inch axle drop.

Re: Water Pump
I sent you a PM, we could maybe meet up in Greensburg. I go out there to Rural King about once a month. This week isn’t looking good with the snow they are predicting.

Re: Sourcing Lebaron Bonney parts
SMS was the worse vendor I’ve ever dealt with, I would do without before I would deal with them again. I won’t go into detail but avoid at all cost.

Re: Adapting An OE Gas Tank Sender Unit
I had the same issue with my OEM sending unit fitting inside the collar hole of a new aftermarket steel tank on my 40. I trimmed the collar hole to allow the sender to drop down in to the collar ring...

Re: 40 Bumper Jack and Stowage Location
Guess I was trying to over think it, thought maybe the jack was anchored or held down some how so it wouldn’t bounce around. So everything just fit in a burlap bag and placed in the tray.
Thanks...

Re: 1940 Sedan Steering Box Removal
I’m thinking the angle might hamper the removal also. Shift rods won’t be an issue because I’ve installed a 39 floor shift transmission and have removed all the column shift hardware.

Re: SMS Auto Fabrics
I’ve dealt with SMS one time and it was the worse experience I’ve ever had. Avoid SMS at all cost.
