52 F1 Steering box problem

Have the steering box apart and cleaned. I cant figure out a way to remove the top bearing retainer from the housing. The way it is installed I cannot get a slide hammer to grip the retainer cup to...

Theses are Moog tie rod ends. The tapered hole in the spindle seems to be ok. I checked it with a set of calipers 5/8" all around the hole and the taper on the tie rod is 5/8".

No there are to many threads. When tight the cotter pin is above the castle nut

Right side tie rod end the castle nut is lower than the cotter pin hole. Anyone else have this issue?

So you turn engine by hand until the zip tie stops going down. Hold the zip tie in that position and turn motor counter clockwise until it hits the zip tie again? Won't it hit the zip tie immediately?

It may be my comprehension problems ,But i do not understand the zip tie way of finding TDC. Put the zip tie in the spark plug hole and rotate engine clockwise until what stops? then turn engine in...

Any idea of who sells the 1.5 ohm ballast resistors or a part number?
When I call autozone or O reiliy's they say we have the ballast resistors but doesnt tell them what ohm's they are.

I am using my 6 volt generator in a 12 volt system. Would I be better off with a 12 volt coil with external resistor or internal resistor?

Yes I will be using a 12 volt battery.
So I can use the 6 volt starter relay?
I need a new coil anyhow the top terminal broke off when i took it apart, so should i just get a new 12 volt coil?
