You may not be getting a good ground. Run a ground wire from the sender to a clean ground on the frame and see what happens. The aftermarket senders have never been known to be friendly to the stock...

Did you use anything like teflon tape when installing the sender? If so you don't have a good ground for the sender and affects the gauge reading..

Napa Auto Parts sells a vented cap for the early Fords as do most of the V-8 parts vendors. I'm not sure about the new locking caps but the older ones would spill gas onto the fender from the key...

X2 on that one. Any silicone lubricant or tire dressing is not your friend when you go to paint something that has been exposed to silicones.

You need new glasses or longer arms. As Dave indicated the font size has not changed and the new roster is great with the larger font and the lines dividing the names. Great improvement.
