Re: 39 ford convertible value
I like the look of the standard as well. Lloyd D's really nice 39 Standard was displayed at EFV-8 Central National Meet at Springfield, IL.

Re: 39 ford convertible value
Because a Standard was cheaper than a De Luxe.
Some folks -or companies- needed just a basic car.
No need to purchase a De Luxe and incur the additional cost.
So, the Standard was...

Re: Ford Work 1930s
The Great Depression--at last a subject that I actually know something about.
Economic recovery from the Great Depression began in 1933 in the United States. GDP, helped by parts of the New...

Ford Work 1930s
Was Ford Motor Company a 24/7 operation in the mid 1930s? Three shifts?
Did they work on Sundays? Weekends? Christmas?
Interested in these details for the 1936 - 1937 period.

Re: craigslist find, enjoy this one fellas!
Yep, a bit of a mix up there. I am thinking he attached the wrong info to the wrong photos. You see this kind of mistake in ads once in a while. Or, if that is not the case, then the seller is...

Re: Finally flew in a Ford.
A low flying Lockheed Hudson collided with a 1935 Ford on that beach in February 1943;
several people were killed.

Re: '41 buyer's guide?
Since the 1941 Ford is a one year only car, I would suggest buying the most complete car you can find (no missing ss trim or interior trim). Trying to find missing trim pieces for 1941 Ford is a...

Re: July 4th.
Don't leave your car out during the July 4th holiday. My friend left his black 1937 Ford out and then his neighbor lit off about $2,000 worth of stuff, coating my friend's car with fireworks residue...

Re: Affordable tires?
You might want to try H.A.M.B. for some good used tires. The hot rod guys over there often buy stock Fords and sell the running gear and wheels/tires. I have seen a set of five brand new with...

Re: 32 Ford Deuce By Tony Thacker
His edition might be a "re-release" of the previously published work. Probably re-released to commemorate the 75 anniversary of the 1932 Ford.

Re: On the road car security
Nothing will stop a real pro, but the extra time to cut through a steering wheel might be all the time needed to slow up a crook and bust him.
Club might work good against the casual non pro...

He is lying or woefully uninformed---those pipes are NOT a Ford option.

Re: 38 ford coupe
All of the differences between the two 1938 models are explained in detail in the Early Ford V-8 Club of America's reference work titled "The 1938-1939 Ford Book."
Good luck

Re: V-8 Museum Raffle 39 Mercury
Actually, the CAF Liberator is a B-24A.
That is what they say it is.

I agree, very seldom see Model A cars with white walls in 1930s era photographs.
V-8 is a different story. There are 1930s era Ford photos that show some of the cars in whitewalls (see the...
