i think i know wr there is a 56 manifold

as you can see i finally got my picture up.
Ticking noise is gone
new gasket and orange high heat gasket maker and i torqued # 7 exhaust first wr it was a bitt worped
i'll watch for...

wr do i get and what kind
i guess put hole in valve cover ...etc.

exhaust manifold is warped a bit in the middle i'll try grinding the ends a bit

poured a lot of tranny fluid down carb
so much smoke neighbours almost called fire department
good news smoke came out between head and exhaust manifold 6 and 7
new gasket should fix that

manual says 3* for manual trans
what timing is suggested for 272 Holley 4 barrel tea pot standard trans
looking at wet carb and black tail pipes id say its running rich
but ill do the choke...

sounds like a manifold leak , i'll go at it again tommorow
i'm at 6* maybe pull a bit more timing out
i only use premium pump and i've put a few tanks recently

drive shaft is ok
rocker shaft and valve lash is ok
i'll have to get help to run it on stands

drive shaft is off
everything is free ,smooth and no slop so i greased it now reinstalling
so now its to run car on jack stands
or check rocker shaft and make sure its tight to the head ...

yes and i even blocked the wheels with emergency brake on and loaded the motor " no ticking" only while driving

y block ticking
272 started making what i thought was a manifold leek, so i poured tranny oil down the carb and the smoke exposed the leek at exhaust manifold wich is now fixed .
noise still there
i can rev...

changed lower rad hose and put 4 gallons anti freeze, now doesn't seem to be circulating
is there an easy way to get air out ???

master cylinder /gas tank
Paul i installed mustang dual master cylinder in 54 crestline ,bolts in nicely
rad shop down the street will clean gas tank for $180.-220. so i'll try vinigar first
do you know if 54 crestline...

my 54 crestline has been sitting since 96 and gas has evaperated
pretty ugly inside
i put nuts and bolts to swish around
is there a strong chemical that will help ????
