It would be easy to 'ohm out' each wire, yes? Is a possible weak plug wire something you want to continue to fight or check off the list?

Clay bar will be more gentle than rubbing compound. I find I need both at times and in different areas on the body.

I think the important part is not to use the clay bar dry. Soapy water...

I've done it with and without the spring spreader. But spreaders can be their own drama and it isn't something a lot of people have used repeatedly.

Tim, Not screws. Terry was correct, there are studs on the backside of the dash. The ears/tabs go over the studs, secured by a lock washer and nut.
