When this happens I would the voltage at the starter terminal to make sure you are getting proper voltage. This will narrow it down.

I just installed one of their systems on my 39 and it fit reasonably well. I did have to tweak it to clear front crossmember. It's important to have the correct hanger by the muffler and I am not too...

The set I got for my 39 came with staples and small screws. I used the screws, they were black and were hidden when installed.Mine were made by Vintique.

Or you can use a thin fiber washer one that is very tight to the plug. This will compress more when tightened and use a metal washer between.

Yes you can get them without the cogs which are for belts that use a small diameter pully.For commercial belts the letter is followed by a X . B54 vs a BX54.

That cotter pin is there to keep the hole open. It's not really in the oi pan but under the clutch and pressure plate. It's to prevent any oil leaking from rear from getting on clutch.

The best way is to solder splice covered with shrink tubing. If you need to take apart again , the bullet connector would be better.

On my 39 engine,I had to crank longer than 30 seconds to get pressure. Crank for 10 secs. And give it a rest for a few mins. Eventually I got 25 psi. but mine is 6 volt and was using a 12 volt batt....

I made my own using plastic tubing of the right diameter. I joined the ends together with a small spring that fit snugly inside the tubing. Check to be sure it's oil resistant.

There is a good chance your block has a lot of rust and casting sand in bottom of water jackets, mostly in the back. This will not be removed by flushing alone, you need to get something down there...
