Re: 39 Ford Sedan Convertible Top Question

Thanks so much! Apparently, the front section scissors inward rather than folding back. We never would have figured it out!

I stopped by to help a buddy today with another project. While I was there, he said, "Help me put the top down on my new to me 39 convertible sedan." Ok. Well, after about 20 or 30 minutes of...

Thanks. I found the rest of the wood kit in some of the boxes I got with the car. I had forgotten they were included. I think I have it all figured out now. Thank you all for your help.

Re: 34 Ford Tudor Wood - What am I missing?

One more question for now. How is the headliner supported? Are there supposed to be bows or so they attach somehow to the roof ribs? If bows, who has them? Thanks.

Re: 34 Ford Tudor Wood - What am I missing?

I got one. He told me to pick out what I needed and I'm trying to figure that part out. That's why I posted here.

Since I didn't take this car apart, I have no idea how this stuff is supposed to...

1934 Ford Tudor Fender Braces

Anyone have any pictures or diagrams of the fender brace locations for my 34 Tudor? I did some searching but didn't find anything on 34's. I want to make sure I get this right.
Thanks

Re: 1934 Tudor Windshield Frame

Re: 1934 Tudor Windshield Frame

After bead blasting it, I am not going to use it. I think I will sell it and put the $$ towards a repro. It is usable but I am ocd and I can't stand to know there is rust there. I will post some...

Re: 1934 Tudor Windshield Frame

No. I'm talking about the corner brackets that hold the frame together.

Re: 1934 Tudor Windshield Frame

Apparently, I can't reply to your PM yet because I dont have enough posts.

The frame I have has steel brackets at the top of the frame that attach to the hinges. These appear to be spot welded to...

Hmm. I guess maybe an improperly installed seal. I will investigate.

So, the windshield should come very close to the lip on the cowl. Correct?

Re: 34 Ford Tudor Question

I don't see how. The threaded inserts are in the dash, not the lip you see. You can't install the screws from under the dash.

Re: I'm going to try to repair this fender

Don't forget to buy a shrinking disc. You will definitely have stretched areas and if you try to smooth that out with an Englis Wheel, you will have more.
