I’ve never seen an original, but maybe it would have small leather straps with buckles? That would seem more period correct.

That looks like Velcro in the photo you posted, but there wouldn’t have been Velcro in the original tool kit.

Occasionally a rivnut will spin when trying to remove a bolt. You then have a fun situation, trying to remove it. If you have access to the bottom side, then it’s not bad. If it’s in a cavity, then...

I don’t think a brush could hold enough paint in the bristles to do the entire car without stopping. Maybe he used a rollerball striping tool?

Renners Garage sends carb parts along with an invoice and you mail them a check. I couldn’t believe it the first time I ordered. Apparently Model A guys are pretty trustworthy, which is a great thing!

Oxalic acid is used by beekeepers to kill mites on the bees. It is vaporized in the hive and works great, especially when used during periods of low/no brood in the hive.

I think it depends on where you live. A 10 lane highway vs a rural 2 lane road will create different challenges.

I’m guessing you will never get an answer to “how many were made”. You could contact Thomas Built Buses and Bluebird Corp, to see what records they might have. Most of the manufacturers are no longer...

I would sand blast, media blast or use a coarse flapper wheel. Whoever sand blasts it, must not overheat and warp the metal.

I had the same problem. Fuel would not gravity feed through an in-line Napa filter, but the old one would flow fuel just fine. I just removed the inline filter.
