From the cowl back, they are the same but, there is no comparison, when it comes to the grill. At the expense of offending '36 lovers (please forgive me), I never liked the "beak" nose of the '36.

I've always loved the '39 Deluxe. My dad bought one new so, I grew up with it but, I like the '35, over the '36. It has the last of the '32-'34, "Hot Rod" styling but, I like them, no hood, Chopped...
