when dealing with a bone stock engine that you know vwer little about. I suggest you find an old motors manual form the year of the engine, Ckintons were the best and covered just abourt everything...

I have alway found that a Clintom Manual from the lat 50s is the best source for information about these early cars and their innards. Made for the backyard mechanic.
