An 8BA block (no cast iron 1/2-bell) weighs 205 lbs, with main caps, & a 283 Chevy bare block is 148 lbs. DD

Just make sure that your engine stand has FOUR wheels instead of three for stability. 8BAs are OK to hang from rear of block, but one of those exhaust adapters should still work in your traditional...
