Re: Stewart Warner Parts Source?

Thanks, but I'm I'm looking for u-brackets, not a gauge panel.

Lots of Autometer brackets available, which I can modify. I'd like to find an S-W insulated ammeter bracket though.

Stewart Warner Parts Source?

I have some older Stewart Warner 2 1/16" gauges I've collected over the years and I'd like to run 'em -- but unfortunately they didn't come with the mounting brackets. I need both the standard height...

Re: '35 Coupe Windshield Drain Questions

THAT'S what I'm looking for. Thanks Rich. Yeah, my driver's side hole isn't even close to being in the same position. Mine must be DIY. Do you have a photo of the nipple underneath (is there one?) --...

Re: '35 Coupe Windshield Drain Questions

I dug out my 35-36 Ford Book and discovered this paragraph (pg 20):

"In January 1935, a modification was added to some models to eliminate leakage around the windshield frame. It consisted of...

Re: '35 Coupe Windshield Drain Questions

My kick panels are out, and no, there don't appear to be any tubes behind them. I'm starting to think my car might be like Randy's -- an early model. The weird position of the drain hole in mine,...

'35 Coupe Windshield Drain Questions

My 5W coupe is an early model (door handles forward) with a Canadian VIN: (star) C18J-41XX (star). I pulled the windshield to install a new seal and service the regulator. When I moved on to the...

'35 Column Drop/Lock/Switch: Lube?

I'm reassembling my column drop after a clean up/repaint. When I disassembled it, it was pretty oily inside. It had obviously been worked on before, and if it's anything like the rest of the car,...

Re: '35 Ignition Lock, removing plunger pin?

I grabbed the pin with a small pair of vice grips, then clamped a larger pair on and used it to pry out the pin.

Re: '35 Coupe: What would you bolt in first?

Thanks! Pedals are in and I was going to bolt in the steering first, too, but hadn't thought beyond that. I've converted to juice brakes.

Re: '35 Ignition Lock, removing plunger pin?

Got the pin out....

Is there a source for these pins? For other parts and pieces to this assembly?

'35 Ignition Lock, removing plunger pin?

I'm trying to pull the pin out of the Steering Wheel Lock Plunger -- some of the reading I've done calls it a "nail" -- but having no luck. Most "how-to" articles just say "remove pin..." (It's #10...

'35 Coupe: What would you bolt in first?

I've rebuilt most of the major components for my '35 coupe: engine, trans, steering, etc. They're not yet in the car. As soon as I install a new ring and pinion in my banjo, I get to start putting it...

Re: '35 tie rod clamps; tacked on??

Thanks...mine were tacked at both clamps, and no, it wasn't a hillbilly/bird crap/bubblegum weld. If it was an arc weld, it was pretty small and clean.

'35 tie rod clamps; tacked on??

In disassembling my front end, I discovered that the clamps on both ends of the tie rod had a tiny tack weld holding them to the rod. Is this stock? There were a lot of little things done to this car...

How to pull column tube off the steering box?

I’ve built a ‘39 box to go into my ‘35 Ford coupe. After some clean-up I’ll be using the ‘35 Column tube (51-3509) and column drop. The ‘35 box and column are out on my work bench. I’ve pulled the...

‘35 Pass Headlight Stands: interchangeable side to side?

Pulling my coupe apart and found the passenger side stand was marked “driver.”

They seem “kind of” symmetrical, but thought I’d better check. Thanks

Re: '35 Front Fender brace -- thru inner panel?

I found a pair of the later braces, with struts, from a gentleman here on the Barn this afternoon, so I'm now good. My car has one early, long brace, and one later short brace. Plus two later fenders...
