Re: scam or legit

Contact Steve Curle at Kiwi Shipping.
Do it through them.
I bought 23 cars in from the USA to NZ through them - great service - no problems.

Re: Ford oddities on my car….

If it was originally RHD there will be 3 holes on the RH side of the cowl where the hand brake was attached. They may have been filled.

Re: Ford oddities on my car….

Some provinces in Canada were still RHD in 1938 - Newfoundland for one.
I'm pretty sure I still have a RHD seat adjuster in my shed.

Re: early 1939 deluxe coupe???

Have a look inside the hood. You should see where the holes were.
Probably covered over on the outside by body filler when painted last.

Re: early 1939 deluxe coupe???

March 1939 seems to be the cut-off date between early and later 39's.
Because of the ongoing labour disputes at Briggs and Murray, Ford bought a lot of the previously out-sourced work back in-house....

Re: '39 Ford Deluxe Hood does not close completely

Take your new parts along with the car to a competent body shop that does crash repairs.
30 minutes and they should have it done.

Re: Looking for reliable shop

We are pretty lucky down here in New Zealand.
It's a small country and we are well served by many people that know older vehicles and their maintenance.
Go with Tony.
