Re: 33/34 Phaeton owner who is willing to help wanted

I've a '33 phaeton where we replaced all of the wood in the body. It was done correctly and I'd be happy to provide any photos that may be of help to you. Unfortunately, the body, while still...

Re: 1940 Ford pickup exhaust manifold color

Alan,

This one of those 'always" and "never" situations where exceptions are waiting in the weeds poised to jump out at any moment. The are a fair number of Ford archives photos from early in...

Re: Ford Model 40 Standard/Deluxe

The brackets show up for sale from time to time as while not that many were sold originally, proportionally fewer want them these days for reasons cited above, plus given how high the tire and wheel...

Re: Ford Model 40 Standard/Deluxe

Here are some photographs from Ford's U.S. archives showing three of the various '33 and '34 door pulls. I've no photo of the '34 standard window molding with the raised lip, nor one of the late '34...

Re: Ford Model 40 Standard/Deluxe

In North American production, side-mounted spare tires/wheels were a production option through the '34 model year.

Like '33s and '32s, the instruments of the '34 model vehicle were lighted from...

Re: Ford Model 40 Standard/Deluxe

Yes, the Fordor seat back robe rails (cords) were woven fabric like the assist straps on the interior of the B pillars. The door pull cords were the ones covered in leather or artificial leather.

Re: Ford Model 40 Standard/Deluxe

"Closed cars" includes coupes, sedans, and Vlctorias. Are you referring to the robe rail attached to the back the front seat on a deluxe fordor sedans? I was referring to the pulls on the doors.

Re: Cast vs. stamped steel clam shells

With respect, all '32-'34 cups were one-piece steel stampings. 48-4520-A1 and 48-4520-A2 are the two versions of the two-piece caps released for the '35 model year. The cast version (not forged)...

Re: Ford Model 40 Standard/Deluxe

Ford had a hard time making up its mind during the '33 and '34 model years about inside door closure assists. Initially in U.S. production of the '33s, the deluxe closed cars and cabriolets used...

Re: 1933 Phaeton- fenders, top irons

Last, but not least, no one is reproducing or has ever reproduced true '33 front fenders (at least in steel). Those offered are the '34 variety, just as the reproduction inner front fender panels...

Re: What are these, 32 3W rear window pieces?

Phil,

With respect, the two channels at the bottom of the photo are correctly labeled as you note. That tag is not attached to the bracket at the top and those two L-shaped brackets at the top...

Re: 1933 Phaeton- fenders, top irons

No one is making '33-'34 phaeton top irons at the present time. Used originals do show up from time to time on ebay and in ads here in the swap meet section. You can place "wanted" ads in that...

Re: 1932 Ford Radio

Ian already asked me via email. The radio key should be removable with only a little bit of resistance, but in fairness it was more than forty years ago since I last had a '32 radio. The '33...

Re: 34 fuel pump stand

It's a '32-34 oil filler tube, not just a '33-'34 part. The difference of the part number prefix being '18' instead of '40' could be helpful in your search.

Re: I remove the dash from my 32 coupe

Ken's are homemade as they lack the raised area surrounding the screw hole that nests in the notches in the cowl as shown in your earlier photo in another thread, but will work regardless.
