Re: What is secret to installing new zerks?

RE the shackles, very true but they will go in. The tool shown above only works on straight nipple zerks. If you are trying to drive in the kind with 45 deg or others that are angled, you will need...

Re: failed sealer gas tank cleaner, alcohol ?

Or have it acid cleaned. That what we do with our tank, well most. We just had a 1936 tank cleaned(it too had the old liner in it) and re-tinned. Inside and out. The place that did the clean/tin is...

Re: failed sealer gas tank cleaner, alcohol ?

Unless it's liquid, what ever you put in has to get over under and around the baffles and back out that little hole the gas get put in thru or out the gas gauge hole.

Re: Master Cylinder & Left Hand Parking Brake on Early 28

You could run an enclosed cable over to your center pull. You might need a lever to increase the pulling power. Google 1948 F1 parking brake diagram for some ideas. Here is one I found;

Re: Analyze this . . .

I don't understand why all this fuss about what the plugs look like in 30 miles. Put a set in and drive it. Unless it starts to miss don't mess with them. Put some real miles on them.

The net gain doing the valve gaps by piston travel is small and can end up with large gaps (could be as high as .035 and up) for nosier valve train. Piston travel was used with worn cam lobes and...

Re: A-6200 Connecting Rod

The reason I asked if it was for an "X" rod is the 31 parts book list the "H" type rod as A-6200A. The "X" rod was a carry over from the very last Model T's but sized for the A crankshaft.

Re: Better brake rod return springs.

Are you putting them on so they push back on the rods from the front of the nub? If not, that would mean taking off the clevis to install them then resetting the length.
