Remove the 3 cotter pins from the finger adjusters and loosen them completely then try.

Get a Dremel with the reinforced cut-off wheels - get down to the wheel/lug on both sides the split the nut off !

That "circulator" appears to be one of the most common designs - Blackhawk was a common model. No new impeller castings are available that I know of but I have a number of those & some pieces - need...

Are you supporting the main shaft from underneath ? I use an extra driven gear - ithe teeth fit perfect between the 2 dowels. Yes, that gap is critical for expansion.

No - the square head bolt of the spring pack just locates the spring in the center - it's not or shouldn't be bolted.

Most likely scenario was #1 went south in the past & was replaced with a modern rod. Hopefully you "indexed" each cap to each rod - re-install the same way you removed them.

Recommended pressure for clincher tires are 65 lbs. for 30 x 3 (24") & 60 lbs. for 30 x 3.5 (23").
